ABOUT MOM'S MOSAICS
How did I start?
Hi, My name is Debbee Lakin-Hall. I was born in South Africa and have lived in Surrey, England since 2000. During the coronavirus lockdown of March 2020, like everybody else I found I had spare time on my hands, and I have always been keen to try a craft like pottery or something else creative. I then saw a fellow South African lady selling mosaic kits, the kit was a great way to try my hand at this form of art.
I was addicted from the first piece and ideas flooded my brain. With the support and encouragement from my wonderful husband the walls in our home were slowly filled with colourful hearts, butterflies which then crept on to window sills in the form of decorative mosaic plant pots. Thanks to the encouragement from my son, husband and friends, Mom’s Mosaics was born. The name, logo and website of this small business was designed by my 13 year old son. I work from my kitchen table creating original mosaic pieces where no two are ever the same!
